Children pose a unique set of challenges when it comes to eye care and vision assessment. Development of good vision is crucial in a child’s early years, therefore the detection and management of potential problems is paramount. All our optometrists at Dyson and Long are trained in the detection and management of children’s vision and eye health conditions. In addition, Cameron Dyson is a practicing member of the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists, who specialize in treating many of the abnormalities in vision development encountered in children.
Treatment for focussing disorders, “lazy eye” (amblyoipa), eye turns, eye co-ordination deficits, and reading vision problems, are all treated or managed in our clinic, as well as managing any eye health issues which may present.
Dyson and Long also offer a free vision screening service to local kindergartens, to ensure vision problems are detected at an early age before critical schooling commences.
Our practice always carries a large range of sturdy but stylish children’s spectacle frames and sunglasses, to help ensure their eyes receive the care they need. Lifetime warranties are even available on some frames, so broken frames need never be a concern.
